The Lake City Betterment Association welcomes Alissa Blair as the new Program Coordinator. The Iowa native starts the position on August 20th. Blair graduated from the University of Iowa in 2007 with a BA in Communication Studies and Marketing before attending Ancient Wisdom College of Healing Arts for massage therapy. Alissa and her husband, Corey Blair, moved back to the Lake City area in August for Corey's position as a Social Studies Instructor for South Central Calhoun High School. Corey and Alissa have two daughters, 2 year old Autumn, 6 month old Caidah. The couple previously lived in Red Oak, Ia, but when given the opportunity to return to Lake City they made the decision to move closer to family. Corey grew up in Lake City and Alissa is from Wall Lake. The couple says they both remember how wonderful it was to grow up in rural Iowa communities. “We both have families in the local small-business sector (Cook Siding Supply; Blair's Artistic Touches and Design) and we know how important economic conditions and citizens are to the quality of life in a community. We take pride in our Northwest Iowa roots and are thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of the Lake City Betterment Association." Alissa is working closely with the Lake City Betterment Association Board of Directors planning the upcoming Fall Fest & the Dell Blair Memorial Chili Cook-off, which will be held on Sunday, September 16th in Lake City.
